Why I Started REHOOKD

“Hi, my name is Alisha and I have a confession: I’m addicted to vintage design.”

From Mid-century modern to Boho, I can spend hours upon hours searching for that special piece tucked away in a dusty corner. However, while I love things from the past, I tend to notice a pattern: most things haven’t changed that much. 

One day, I was working on a project to create a hanging plant rack to hold a few plants. In doing so, I needed some hook’s and visited my local hardware store, hoping to find something colorful and stylish. To my surprise,  the store had nothing even close to what I was aiming for. It was the same standard and boring industrial s-hook that we all know and think of. It lacked character, identity, and most of all, beauty. I kept thinking to myself that I must have been looking in the wrong store and proceeded to check online. Even then, I couldn’t find anything that fit my vision. Instead, I had to settle with trying to make the best of it, which in turn never looked quite right.  

We’ve all heard the phrase, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

However, there are some things that are worth innovating. At REHOOKD, it is our goal to reimagine hooks and hangers in a modern way of thinking that stands the test of time.
